Africa has been called the "Land of Beetles", and this display shows off the most spectacular and wonderful examples of this most diverse group of insects! 60 Cetonid beetles from across Africa, set in a huge shadowbox frame. Many museums do not have such a set! I have chosen for you examples of the most amazing beetles from the continent, showing off the incredible diversity God has allowed to develop there! Included are males to show off the horns [some of these are just bizzare!] and rare species hard to get as well as some of the most beautiful. Highlights are; 11 goliathus beetles with all five goliathus species including a very large G. regius and rare sub species like G. goliathus albatus [almost all white] and a G. apicalis with lots of white on sides and in wing covers...a spread large G. goliathus also called giganteus, and other large species like Mycenorhina torquata, M.ugandensis, M. savegi, M. kraatzi, M. oberthuri decorata, M. oberthuri unicolor,, Dicranorhina micans, D. derbyana layardi, Megalorhina harrisi perigrina, and M. haroldi, Chelorrhina polyphemus from Kenya with rare horn abnormality, many Eudicalla species inc. a large E. gralli and rare E. cupreosuthuralis, Three Neptunids color variations, Forsinsinnius russus and fornisannii, C. burkei from Zimbabwe, and a very rare Ethiopian species C. demetriev, also two of the wonderful Ranzania species bertelloni and splendens....plus many colorful smaller species like S. guttata, julia, aldelpha and some of the vivid Madagascar Euchroa species.
